At The Times of My Life, run by CompanyWRX, LLC, you can always take your memories with you, and you can always remove them. This page explains how.

Exporting your memories

Export is free. It always will be. We will never require a paid plan for you to download or export memories you uploaded.

What you get

Your export is a ZIP file containing:

Your original files — photos, videos, and audio recordings, as you uploaded them;
Their metadata — dates, captions, places, people, and other details;
Your albums; and
Your stories and written memories.

How it works

You can request an export at any time from your account settings.
We prepare the file and send you a download link.
The download link is valid for 7 days. After that, simply request a new export.
There is no limit on how often you can export.

We recommend exporting before canceling a plan, closing your account, or at any time you want a safe copy at home.

Downloading individual memories

You can view and download any original you uploaded, one at a time, without a subscription.

What you can delete

You can delete, at any time:

Individual memories (photos, videos, recordings, written memories)
Albums
Events you host
People identifications (the names attached to people in photos)
Face data (see below)
Your whole account

How deletion works

Trash — 30 days

When you delete a memory, it goes to Trash for 30 days. You can restore it during that time. After 30 days it is permanently erased, including all derived copies — thumbnails, smaller versions, search embeddings, face descriptors, and transcripts.

Deleting your account — 14-day grace period

When you ask to delete your account, we ask you to confirm. After you confirm, there is a 14-day grace period in case you change your mind. After that, we begin permanently deleting your account and your memories, including all derived copies.

Please export first. Once deletion is complete, we cannot bring your memories back.

Backups

We keep backups to protect against loss. Deleted content is removed from backups as they are cycled out on a regular schedule and is not restored into the service.

Face data

Marking a person "do not recognize" deletes that person's face descriptors.
Turning off facial recognition for a space deletes all face descriptors in that space.
Face descriptors are deleted when the photo, person, or account is deleted, and in all cases within 30 days of their purpose ending.

Things deletion does not reach

Copies others already downloaded. If you shared a memory and someone downloaded it, deleting yours cannot remove their copy.
Records the law requires us to keep, such as payment and tax records.
Content we must preserve for a legal reason, such as a valid legal hold or a report of illegal content.

Event galleries

Guest access to an event gallery expires — by default 30 days after the event. Expiry never deletes memories. The event's hosts keep the archive until they choose to delete it. Guests may ask the hosts, or us, to remove their photos.

Canceling a plan

Canceling a paid plan does not delete anything. You return to the free core, where you can still view, download, and export everything.

Digital legacy

You can nominate legacy contacts. In this version, that is a nomination only: nothing is transferred automatically. Any future way to pass on an archive will require a verified process. Until then, the best way to pass memories on is to export them and share the file.

If you cannot use the in-app tools, or you want us to confirm that something has been deleted, email bill@companywrx.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
