Cookie Policy
Draft — last updated September 29, 2026. Not yet reviewed by an attorney.
Attorney review required before large-scale launch. This draft was prepared to describe how the service actually works. It does not guarantee compliance with any law.
This page explains the small number of cookies used by The Times of My Life (https://thetimesofmylife.com), run by CompanyWRX, LLC.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of text a website saves in your browser so it can remember something between visits, such as the fact that you are signed in.
The short version
- We use only essential cookies — the ones the service needs to work.
- We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
- Our analytics on public pages is cookieless.
- Your private content never goes to analytics.
The cookies we use
| Cookie purpose | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Session | Keeps you signed in and protects your account while you use the service. | Until you sign out or the session expires. |
| Event guest identity | Remembers a guest at a specific event so their uploads stay linked to them, without an account. One per event. | For that event's guest window. |
| Current family space | Remembers which family space you were last looking at, so you land in the right place. | Until you change it or clear your cookies. |
Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the service you asked for, they do not require a consent banner in most places. If you block them, signing in, guest uploads, and switching family spaces will not work.
Analytics
On our public marketing pages only, we use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we run ourselves. It:
- Uses no cookies.
- Does not follow you across other websites.
- Counts things like page visits and which pages are popular, so we can improve the site.
Umami is not used inside your private archive. Your photos, videos, recordings, stories, names, and other private content are never sent to analytics.
What we do not use
- No advertising cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No cross-site tracking or data sold to ad networks.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you see and delete cookies in their settings. Deleting the session cookie signs you out. Deleting an event guest cookie means that device will no longer be recognized as the same guest for that event.
Changes
If we ever add a cookie that is not essential, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires.
