Your memories belong to you. This page explains what that means at The Times of My Life, run by CompanyWRX, LLC, and the few permissions we need to keep your memories safe.
You own what you upload
Your photos, videos, audio recordings, written memories, albums, and stories stay yours. Uploading them does not transfer ownership to us, and we will never claim it.
Our promise
These are binding commitments, and they are also part of our Terms of Service:
- We will never require a paid plan for you to download or export memories you uploaded.
- Viewing your memories, downloading originals, and exporting your data are free.
- Canceling a paid plan never removes your memories.
- We will never change our terms to take away your ownership or to put free export behind a paywall.
The limited license you give us
To store and show your memories, we need your permission to handle them. You grant CompanyWRX, LLC a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Store your content;
- Process it, such as making thumbnails, search embeddings, transcripts, and — only if you use them — AI features and facial recognition suggestions;
- Display it to you and to the people you choose to share with; and
- Back it up so it is not lost.
That is all. We do not use your content to advertise, sell it, license it to others, put it in a public feed, or use it to train AI models. The license ends when your content is permanently deleted, apart from copies still cycling out of backups.
Photos of children
Family archives naturally include children. We use photos and information about children only to provide the service to your family, and for nothing else.
Shared memories and family spaces
- When you share a memory, the people you share with can see it. Sharing is one hop: they cannot share it onward.
- You still own a memory you share into a family space. If you delete it, it is removed from the space.
- A family member can download a copy of something you shared with them. Once they have a copy, deleting yours does not reach their device.
Event archives
At an event, guests upload photos by scanning a QR code. Those uploads go to the event's hosts, who own the event archive. Guests may ask the hosts, or us, to remove their photos. See our Event Guest Privacy Notice.
AI-generated content
Text or selections that AI produces for you — such as a draft story or a slideshow — are yours to use, edit, or delete. You are the source of truth, and your edits always win.
Your responsibilities
Please upload only content you have the right to share. Do not upload:
- Anything illegal, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to NCMEC as required by law;
- Content that belongs to someone else without permission; or
- Other people's private content to harass or embarrass them.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the service infringes your copyright, email bill@companywrx.com with a description of the work, where it appears, and your contact details.
